 Os benefícios das interações digitais

Ainda que os meios digitais sejam vistos por vezes como algo negativo, a verdade é que estes revelaram ser uma peça importante para a conexão de pessoas fisicamente distantes, mais evidente no contexto pandémico que se vive atualmente, onde permitem conectar laços, reestruturar a comunicação até lá existente, e deram novas formas de inovação. Para além desta aproximação, os meios digitais permitiram também abrir horizontes e conhecer novas pessoas, possivelmente do outro lado do globo.

Num estudo feito pela Pew Research Center em 2015, constatou-se que 57% dos adolescentes fizeram, pelo menos, um amigo online, e, 83% afirmam que os media sociais os fizeram sentir mais conectados e informados com o meio que os integra, nomeadamente, os seus amigos. Outro estudo realizado por Bell et al., no mesmo ano, afirma que os meios digitais revelaram ser palco central no que se trata à qualidade e envolvimento social, onde 68% dos participantes no estudo afirmaram que os meios digitais tiveram um papel importante na superação de problemas de comunicação. 

De um ponto de vista mais profissional, estes meios permitiram facilitar e inovar processos de trabalho, agilizando os calendários dos trabalhadores. Deste modo, é possível agendar reuniões, aulas e palestras a distância, tendo até a oportunidade de mostrar as suas apresentações, fazer partilhas de ecrã e até mesmo gravar as reuniões.

Os meios digitais são, sem dúvida, fontes de crescimento e desenvolvimento social e pessoal. Como referido inicialmente, todos estes fatores tornaram-se mais claros com o surgimento da pandemia, pandemia esta que veio quebrar e até mesmo anular a possibilidade de interações físicas. Isto permitiu que, a nível social, as comunicações fossem possíveis, e que aplicações como a HouseParty se tornassem parte do nosso quotidiano. The benefits of digital interactions

Although digital media are often seen as negative, they had an important role on physically distant connections that became more evident during the pandemic scene we're currently living in. These digital media allow us to bond, rebuild communication and find new ways to be creative. In addition to this approach, digital media have also  made it possible to open horizons and meet new people, possibly on the other side of the globe.

In a study done by the Pew Research Center in 2015, it was found that 57% of teens made at least one friend online, and 83% said that social media made them feel more connected and informed with the environment that integrates them, namely their friends. Another study carried out by Bell et al., in the same year, states that digital media proved to be a central stage in terms of quality and social involvement, where 68% of study participants said that digital media played an important role in overcoming of communication problems.

From a professional point of view,  these means have made it possible to innovate work methods, streamlining workers' schedules. That way, it's possible to schedule meetings, classes and lectures remotely,  having as well the opportunity to show their presentations,  screen share and even record the meetings.

Digital media are, without a doubt, sources of growth and social and personal development. As mentioned initially, all these factors became clearer with the onset of the pandemic, that broke and even nullified the possibility of physical interactions. This has allowed communications to be possible on a social level and apps like HouseParty to become part of our daily lives. On a professional level, platforms such as Teams have been substantially improved and adapted to the current reality.
